Credit Guide​

The Credit Guide acknowledges your right to ask about our services including the following:

  • Our commitment to you
  • The type of advice we can give you
  • How we are remunerated
  • What to do if you have a complaint
  • Having your questions answered

When we meet with you at the first interview to discuss your financial needs we will provide you with the credit guide outlining the way we operate, the services we provide, the lenders we work with and key things you should know. It is important that you are aware of our obligations to provide you with quality service and trustworthy financial advice.


We take our commitments to you seriously and want to ensure that your experience is one that will be memorable for all the right reasons. Keep the credit guide handy so you can refer to it if you need during our subsequent meetings. We will also make sure that we always have an extra copy available if you need it.

Legal Issues

We are obligated to act in your best interests and we also represent lenders and have an obligation to them. We are required to provide any information we know to the lender chosen and we are not to provide any information we know is misleading or deceptive. We also have an obligation under the law to report any fraud, forgery, or their illegal activities. When you sign an agreement with us you are confirming that you understand we have these obligations.


We are also obligated under law to ensure that the finance we arrange for you is appropriate. We will need to make reasonable enquires into your financial needs, goals and circumstances in order to provide you relevant financial advice.


We do not provide legal, taxation, insurance or deposit account advice. We recommend that you consult your Accountant, Solicitor or Investment Advisor in respect to the financial implications of your application for finance before you enter the loan contract. If you have any questions about our role and the law, please ask us before you sign.

Handling Disputes and Protecting Your Privacy

Internal Dispute Resolution

Before you accept your loan offer make sure you read the credit contract carefully to find full details for the loan. It is important that you check the loan agreement to ensure that the terms of the loan do not vary from what you require. Inform us immediately if the contract differs from what you have agreed so that we can immediately assist you.


If you have a complaint about your finance application or if you believe an error has occurrent then you can contact your Blueskin Bay Finance Broker to discuss. We are here to support you and will work with you to understand your complaint and determine what solution we can provide.


If your Broker is unable to achieve a satisfactory resolution then you can submit your complaint in writing and we will endeavour to review your complaint with the Directors and provide you a written response. The contact person to submit your complaint to is:

External Dispute Resolution

If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, then you have the further option of referring the matter to an external dispute resolution scheme known as the Australian Financial Complaints Authority Limited (AFCA) Member Number 44657. We collect and store personal information such as your name, address, contact details and credit information. Where necessary we also collect information on Company Directors and Officers. You are obligated to provide accurate and complete information so we can assist you with the product and services you require.


We are committed protecting your private information through ensuring that we have your information secure and we follow a secure handling practice to make sure that we only access the information we need when we need it. When working with other third parties throughout the finance process we will ensure we have your consent to disclosure.


By applying for finance with us you are also authorising us to:

      • Disclose credit information to any joint borrower with you and/or guarantor
      • Disclose credit information to third parties to complete compliance audit requirements to ensure due diligence is maintained (this can include Lenders, accountants, compliance firms, aggregators, and government agencies involved with the enforcement of the NCCP)
      • Provide information to third parties as required with the successful completion of the loan transaction
      • Blueskin Bay Finance employees assisting in the provision of financial services for you
      • Add your information to the Blueskin Bay database for the purpose of mail and follow ups
      • Obtain information in writing from third parties regarding your finance application such as your employer, and accountant

From time to time as part of our service we will contact you to:

  • Ensure that you are adequately informed on the progress of your application
  • Check you are satisfied with the Product and Service you have been provided
  • For administration purposes
  • Update your information
  • Review your finance needs and goals

You may access your information by contacting us in writing. We will require presentation of appropriate identification to release any information to you and we will not be able to release this information over the phone.
